What is the Food Purchasing Club?

The Saint John Food Purchasing Club is a volunteer-based program that helps people stretch their grocery dollars by purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables in bulk.

Everyone is welcome to join, and you don't have to order every month!

Have questions? Drop them in the comments or ask while I'm live! ❤️

10/23/2026

📣 I'll be hopping on here shortly for a LIVE unbagging!

I'll be showing off my SJ Food Purchasing Club order, sharing a little more about how the club works, and answering some frequently asked questions! Whether you're already a member or thinking about joining, feel free to pop on and say hello!

But before I do, I want to give a BIG shout-out to our amazing volunteers!

Today we packed 117 orders, and what a great day it was! Everything went so smoothly, and that's thanks to this wonderful group of people who show up month after month to help make it all happen.

And of course, another big thank you to UCT Jack Kidd Council #755, who also shows up every month to help get all these orders delivered to our pickup locations throughout the city. We couldn't do it without you either!

There's a lot of work that goes into getting these orders packed and ready for our members, and I'm so grateful for everyone who gives their time to help out. We really do have a great bunch of volunteers!

A huge thank you to each and every one of you! Your time and help are so appreciated! ❤️

See you all shortly!

It looks like our September newsletter may not have made it into every order today, so I wanted to share it here so no one misses out!

Inside you’ll find a recipe using some of this month’s goodies, along with a few tips, facts and a little veggie fun. 🥔🍅🍐

Hope everyone enjoys their order this month and maybe finds a little inspiration for what to make with it!

Happy cooking and have a wonderful weekend! 🌱

🥕🥬 Happy Veggie Day!! 🍎🥔

Orders are packed and ready at our pickup locations! We hope everyone enjoys their goodies this month.

Just a little reminder: if you have any questions about pickup today, please reach out directly to your pickup location. We are all volunteers and this page isn’t monitored, so your pickup site will be the best place to get the information you need.

And of course, a HUGE thank you to everyone who helps make this all happen each month!

UCT Jack Kidd Council #755 for helping deliver orders to some of our community pickup locations
Saint Joseph's Community Health Centre for helping coordinate this program alongside our volunteers
NBCC Saint John for giving us a central space to pack everything
And all of our amazing volunteers and community partners who help get those veggies into your hands!

It really does take a little community teamwork to make Veggie Day happen!

And one of my favourite things about this program, the full $25 you pay goes right back into purchasing the food in your order. No overhead taken from your $25, just getting as much good food into those bags as we can!

Thank you everyone for making this program what it is.

Happy Veggie Day, hope you all have a great weekend! 💚
