A little update to our fall break plans! 🍂

A change in our travel plans has delayed our return to Oliver, so we'll be extending our break by one more day.

We'll now reopen Thursday, October 22, rather than Wednesday as originally planned.

🦃 Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Black Sage Butcher.

What a week! A huge shout out to our incredible team for all their hard work, dedication and good humour throughout the Thanksgiving rush. We couldn't have done it without them.

We also said goodbye to Rylee as she wrapped up her seasonal contract with us. We're so grateful for everything she brought to the team this summer and wish her all the best in her next adventures. ❤️

To our wonderful customers, thank you for choosing us to be part of your Thanksgiving celebrations. We hope your weekend is filled with good food, good company and plenty to be thankful for. 🍂

🍂 Two days left to stock up before our fall break!

A friendly reminder that Black Sage Butcher will be closed October 11–20 for our annual fall break.

Whether you're picking up something delicious for Thanksgiving, planning next week's meals, or just want to make sure your freezer is well stocked while we're away, now's the time to pop in!

We're open:
Friday, Oct. 9 — 10 am–5:30 pm
Saturday, Oct. 10 — 10 am–4 pm

We'll be back Wednesday, October 21, refreshed and ready to see you again.

Thank you to everyone who placed an order — we're looking forward to seeing you over the next few days!

Missed the pre-order deadline?
We'll have a selection of Thanksgiving favourites available first-come, first-served in store Thursday through Saturday, while quantities last. This includes a limited number of fresh turkeys, roasts and smoked bone-in hams, along with Heat & Serve sides and other holiday favourites.

Picking up a pre-order?
Pre-ordered whole turkeys, smoked hams and holiday sides will be available for pickup — no appointment needed — Oct. 8–10 during regular business hours.

Pre-ordered half turkeys, turkey roasts and Heat & Serve dinner packages will be ready on the day selected when your order was confirmed.

🍂 Annual Fall Break
After the Thanksgiving rush, we’ll be taking our annual fall break. The shop will be closed October 11–20, giving our small team a chance to recharge and spend quality time with friends and family.

We’ll be back in the shop and ready to see you again Wednesday, October 21.

Planning to order a Value Pack?
Value Pack orders placed after 4 pm Saturday, October 3 may be delayed by our fall break, so if you’re hoping to stock up before we close, now’s the time to get your order in.

Thanksgiving pre-orders are, of course, still underway, with pickup October 8–10 — so there’s lots happening at BSB before we disappear for a little breather. 🦃

Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away, and if a fresh turkey is part of your plans, now’s the time to reserve yours. 🦃

Our small JD Farms turkeys are almost spoken for, with just 2 currently remaining. We still have good availability in medium and large:
Small (4–6 kg / 9–13 lb) — only 2 left!
Medium (5–7 kg / 11–15 lb) — still available
Large (7–9 kg / 15–20 lb) — still available

We’ve been bringing in these beautiful BC-raised turkeys for seven years, and they’ve become a Thanksgiving favourite around here.

A whole turkey not quite right for your table? We have just one half turkey still available, along with boneless turkey roasts and smoked bone-in hams.

And if you’d rather spend less time cooking this Thanksgiving, our Heat & Serve Turkey Dinner Packages and Holiday Sides are also still available to pre-order.

Online pre-orders are available until noon Wednesday, October 7, while quantities last. After that, any remaining Thanksgiving offerings will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pre-order pickup: October 8–10.

Our Heat & Serve Turkey Dinner Packages are designed for anyone who’d rather spend a little less time in the kitchen this Thanksgiving.

Choose the Heat & Serve dinner option that works for your table:
🍽️ Turkey Dinner for Two — a complete dinner for 2, with sliced white & dark turkey and all the fixings
🦃 Half Turkey Dinner — half a large turkey with stuffing, gravy & cranberry chutney; approx. 9 servings
🦃 Whole Turkey Dinner — a whole large turkey with stuffing, gravy & cranberry chutney; approx. 18 servings

Already have your centrepiece planned? You can also pick and choose from our house-made Heat & Serve Holiday Sides and let us take a few things off your plate.

Prefer to do the cooking yourself? Our Thanksgiving line-up also includes fresh whole & half turkeys, boneless turkey roasts and smoked bone-in hams.

We’ll be closed Wednesday, September 30 for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

We’ll be taking the day to reflect, learn, and honour the Indigenous children, families and communities whose lives continue to be impacted by the residential school system.

We’ll see you again Thursday, October 1, when we resume regular shop hours.
