Here at Thistlebum Manor on our Farm we are attempting the old fashioned back to the country way of life with a little magic and woodland spirit thrown in. We are raising chickens (the gateway animal) and growing good healthy vegetables. We would like to share our experiences, trials, successes, failures and fun times. We have lived in the city as a family for most of our lives and have decided t
o try our hand out in the country. So on our page we will be sharing things such as, farming, from chickens to pigs and turkeys and whatever other animal comes to our farm. We'll be covering things such as cooking in different styles, gardening, crafts,raising trees, what each season brings to the Manor and the farm, how to build a good fire both inside and out, harvesting, making jams, jellies, pickles, relishes and other cupboard goodies, and celebrations on the farm such as Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, Easter and other fun things like Dinner Parties, Picnics, Tea Parties, BBQ's and lots of fun get togethers. We're not experts by any means but come learn along with us and have some fun learning some of the old ways of doing things.
