Sunshine in a jar! ☀️

It is a bit difficult to capture just how lemon-y yellow this pepper jelly is, but our Golden Pepper Jelly is every bit as sweet and tasty as the Red Pepper Jelly you know and love! Why not try some this week as a glaze on chicken or pork, or as traditionally applied on crackers with some creamcheese? You just may come to love this sunny sweet jelly!

Brrr, it sure is a cold one today! 🥶

To keep warm, why not make a soup or stew?
We have stew packs, or mushrooms, celery, garlic, peppers, carrots and onions if you'd prefer to build your own. We even have warm brown bread fresh from the kitchen in today to go with your supper. 😋

And what's supper without dessert? We have strawberry rhubarb pies, apple pies, blueberry lemon pound cake and other ready-to-eat treats available in store.
If you'd like to keep your oven on for a bit longer (and warm the house at the same time), there is also bundles of freshly cut rhubarb (1lb) to make a crumble!

We have added Floyd's Coffee 61 to our store over the weekend!
Locally roasted in Jemseg, this company was created in honour of the late Floyd Hall: he loved having chats over a hot cup of coffee and would always offer visitors a cup at their cottage on the lake.
"Coffees on, would you like one?", he would say.

Today would be a good day for coffee, Floyd. The rain is welcomed, but it is making it rather chilly out. 🥶

You know what is a great summertime treat? Strawberries! 🥹🍓

Perfect for the kids or for yourself, some of our plants are already starting to flower and fruit. It is recommended to pick the flowers off during their first year (stronger plants to overwinter), but if you are not worried about overwintering them then let them give you a sweet summer treat.
What's better is we have two varieties: one with the traditional white flowers and another with striking red!

Deadheading is an essential part of caring for your flower baskets and pots to keep them looking and producing their best (especially the petunias!)

Simply pulling the spent flower petals off still leaves behind the o***y, which means the plant will continue putting energy into developing seeds and not new flower buds. Taking a sharp pair of pruners or scissors (less trauma/damage than pinching or tearing) and cutting off behind the o***y will help redirect the plant's energy into producing more flowers.

Looks like the neighborhood fox family is out enjoying the weather!
She had two little ones with her (by the fallen branches) and we made sure to give them space. They help keep rodent and squirrel populations in check around the farm, and are a welcomed sight. 🦊

Correction: she has 3 kits! Though now it might be 4 according to Marlon
