Hello my dear Wolodo family and followers 🙏

Greetings to all of you wherever you are around the world.

I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and respect throughout this long journey. Your kindness, messages, comments, and love always give me strength and motivation to continue sharing important historical memories, cultural values, and meaningful stories with our community.

History is not only about the past — it is also about identity, memory, sacrifice, and preserving truth for future generations. Together, we continue this journey of awareness, unity, culture, and historical preservation.

I will continue, God willing, to share valuable historical materials, rare memories, important discussions, and meaningful content for our people and younger generations.

Wishing peace, health, wisdom, and success to all of you and your families.

Thank you for walking this journey with me.

Respect and blessings 🙏

🌹 A Tribute to Mother Zeineb Yassin ማማ ዘይነብ ያሲን (1918–2005)

Today, we remember and honor Mother Zeineb Yassin — a strong Eritrean mother whose life became part of the long journey of sacrifice, resilience, and national memory.

Born and raised in Afabet, she joined the Eritrean struggle in 1977 together with her husband and her two sons. During the difficult years of the armed struggle, she worked behind the military lines, supporting freedom fighters and helping mobilize the people.

Mother Zeineb was especially remembered for her powerful revolutionary Tigrait poetry, through which she encouraged courage, unity, endurance, and hope during some of the hardest years of the struggle.

Among many fighters, she became lovingly known as:
“The Mother of the Fighters.”

After the EPLF withdrew from Afabet, she spent much of her life in Nakfa until the day of Eritrean independence. Later, she returned to her hometown of Afabet, where she lived until her passing on January 28, 2005.

Today, on Mother’s Day, we remember not only our mothers at home, but also the mothers who carried the burden of struggle, sacrifice, displacement, and hope for future generations.

May her memory continue to live on.

⛪ ገዳም ደብረ ሲና — በዓቲ ወለንሳ
Debresina Monastery — The Sacred Rock of Welensa
This is not only a rock.
This is not only a gathering.
This is memory.
This is faith.
This is history.
This is the spiritual heartbeat of generations.
Every year on June 28, tens of thousands of believers travel from different parts of Eritrea to the ancient monastery of St. Mary of Debresina.
Under the great rock known as “Welensa,” people gather with prayer, hope, tears, songs, and thanksgiving.
For me, Debresina is deeply personal.
After leaving government office in 1995 and beginning a new civilian life, I made a decision that remained part of my soul for many years — to celebrate the annual feast of St. Mary together with my family. For 12 consecutive years, we traveled to this holy place to pray, reflect, and reconnect with faith and community.
During difficult years, I learned something important:
Power may change. Positions may disappear. Life may rise and fall.
But faith remains with a human being forever.
Many people around me did not believe in God. Some even believed religion had no place in modern struggle and political life. But I always believed that a nation without spiritual values loses part of its soul.
I believe in God.
I believe in prayer.
And I believe one day, by God’s grace, I will once again walk toward Adi Tekelezan, Habromguaqua, Elabered and Debresina, stand beneath the great rock of Welensa, and celebrate St. Mary as in the old days.
Some places are never forgotten.
Some memories never die.
And some prayers continue living inside the heart for a lifetime.
🙏 ወለንሳ — ኣሰራተይ ኣብኡ'ሎ!!
🙏 Welensa — a place of faith, unity, and history.

Student ➝ Freedom Fighter ➝ Businessman
"ንኹሉ እንቋዕ ኣርከብኩሉ!" ምህሮ፡ ገድሊ፡ ንግዲ።
Today, I stand as a blessed man. Decades have passed…
Through struggle, through sacrifice, through survival,
And by the grace of God, I am still here. Strong. Standing.
If someone asks me:
“Which life was the best?”
My answer may surprise you…
It was the time of the armed struggle.
Not because it was easy,
But because it was pure.
No bills. No shopping. No insurance. No medical costs.
Only one mission:
Freedom.
Every day, we marched forward with purpose.
Every step was toward victory.
Every breath carried hope.
Today, I am a businessman. I have responsibilities, commitments, and a different kind of battle.
But I never forget.
I never forget the brothers and sisters who stood beside me…
Who fought with courage…
And who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
They are not gone.
They live in our history.
They live in our land.
They live in us.
I am not just a man of today,
I am a witness of yesterday.
I am a living archive.
I am a story that continues.
🙏 Respect to all our martyrs.
🇪🇷 Honor to those who sacrificed everything.

👉 We didn’t sacrifice for silence, follow to keep the truth alive.
