Join us at the Golden Farmers Market as we honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation this Wednesday Sept 30th at our final summer season market at Spirit Square from 10-3pm.

We invite our community to wear orange, take time to reflect on the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools, and consider the role each of us can play in reconciliation.

The day’s programming will include a welcome prayer, a performance by Métis musician Stephanie Ballendine, a Big Drum demonstration, and a performance by Sandie Cantin.

Local Food Matters respectfully acknowledges that we gather on the traditional, unceded territories of the Ktunaxa and Secwépemc peoples. We also honour the cultural contributions and continued stewardship of citizens of the Métis Nation Columbia River Society, as well as the many Indigenous families who call this land home.

This week is Farmers' Market Appreciation Week and boy do we have lots to be grateful for in our community! Firstly, thank you to our municipal government for being such an incredible support to our local farmers' market. They support us in so many ways:
- They offer us Spirit Square at no cost
- They support us financially to keep the market going
- They ensure we have market banners and signage to spread the word
- Elected officials often frequent the market and make sure they're spending local dollars where it counts most.

Thank you to our wonderful vendors and to the community that supports us every week!

Please come join us this Wednesday from 10-3pm to celebrate with us and grab your locally made FREE cupcake!
