Gander Grow Co. is hiring an Event Coordinator/Facility Manager to help expand and manage community programming at our year-round market and café facility.
This full-time role will focus on coordinating workshops, facility rentals, farmers markets, and community events, including cooking classes, small business workshops, cultural programming, and more.
The Event Coordinator/Facility Manager will be responsible for managing bookings, connecting with vendors and community partners, and supporting event logistics from planning to ex*****on. This position will also help develop new programming that builds community engagement, supports local entrepreneurs, and improves access to local food, learning, and education.
This is a hands-on opportunity to build skills in event coordination, customer service, administration, scheduling, communications, marketing support, and operational planning within a busy, public-facing community space.
The Event Coordinator/Facility Manager will report to the Gander Grow Co. Board.
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Creating and managing the schedule for café workers
• Monitoring and managing the email inbox
• Scheduling bookings, workshops, special events, weekly farmers market activities, and more
• Checking and maintaining café and market inventory
• Sending invoices to vendors
• Creating and maintaining social media content
• Supporting the day-to-day coordination of events and facility operations
This is an on-site position, and office space will be provided.
Position details:
Pay: $16.35/hour
Hours: 35+ hours per week
Start date: Immediately
Location: Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador
Eligibility requirements:
Applicants must reside in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Applicants must be unemployed or underemployed, meaning they are working less than 20 hours per week or are working in a field unrelated to their training.
Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Newfoundland and Labrador. Temporary residents may be eligible if they are international graduates with a Post-Graduate Work Permit or have an Open Work Permit.
Recent post-secondary graduates who have not found employment in their field may be eligible.
Applicants must not be receiving federal or provincial pensions, Workplace NL benefits, or other benefits.
Individuals hired before the application date are not eligible.
