Our strawberry season is still a few weeks away, but we wanted to announce that this year’s Strawberry Days festival will be on June 27 & 28 from 10am-4pm.

More details to follow, but we say that you will be able to enjoy the same family fun atmosphere with games, wagon rides, strawberry picking, and more!

Asparagus season is now in full swing. Temperatures have risen, the sun is shining, and asparagus is growing beautifully!

Crop Update - May 12, 2026 edition

As you all know, this has been a very cool spring and things are growing slowly so far on the farm. We thought it would be a good time to give an update on how our fruit and veggie crops are doing so far (roughly in order of harvest season - of course it is all weather-dependent).

Other crops (not pictured):

Zucchini - Amy has started some plants indoors to get them started and will transplant in the fields once the soil is warmer. Future plantings will be directly seeded into the ground.

Green and yellow beans - Paul is planting the first bean seeds today. Bean harvest normally begins in July.

Popcorn - Will be planted this week. We have last year’s crop available in-store now after drying out over the winter.

Ornamental corn - Also to be planted this week.

Sunflowers - We will start to plant them this week.

Pumpkins and winter squash - Normally planted at the beginning of June.

Gladiolus flowers - We will begin planting the corms soon and staggering the plantings so we can have a longer season of beautiful blooms. We missed digging up last year’s corms last fall with the early snowfall, but we were happily surprised to see that some of them have survived the winter. How lovely!

Today we are back with Carrot Cake tea biscuits. Due to how delicious they are and the positive feedback we’ve received, we are making them the new Monday Biscuit of the Day for 2026! Tomorrow we will let our bakery staff decide what special flavour they make. Stay tuned… and enjoy!
