A little peek behind the scenes on the farm: frost protection in full swing 🍓❄️

When the temperature drops low enough at night we use overhead irrigation to protect the strawberry blossoms. While it may look unusual, that layer of ice actually helps shield the plants from frost damage by keeping them at a safer temperature.

It’s one of the many ways we work through chilly spring nights to care for the crop and make sure we have healthy berries for the season ahead.

A lot happens on the farm before harvest… and sometimes that includes fields sparkling with ice under the stars ✨🍓

We’re looking forward to frost-free nights ahead! Here’s to sleep!!
