Bangladesh’s Safe Food (Registration and Licensing) Regulations, 2026, will require designated food businesses, including roadside pitha, puri and peyaju stalls, restaurants, bakeries and packaged-food manufacturers, to register with the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) from November 1. Registration is free for first-time applicants in 16 conventional categories and remains valid for three years. Four categories of specialised food businesses require additional licensing, with non-compliance punishable under the Safe Food Act, 2013.
