Not only do they taste much better, but as a mum I am consciously aware of the goodness of natural foods in my own family’s diet. I have always been an avid cook and for many years made jams, relishes and chutneys for friends and family at Christmas time for gifts. Other people who had tried my gifts would phone and ask if I could make this jam or that chutney and they wanted to pay me, hence my b
usiness began. My kitchen was registered on 4th June, 2004. The name Jam Mad evolved because my children’s names are James & Madeline, so I used the first three letters of both their names which seemed to stick. All of them are sweetened with organic raw sugar. The berry jams are made from truly delicious Yarra Valley berries. As well as tasting fantastic they are rich in Vitamin C and are extremely high in antioxidants. The apricot, plum and peach and passionfruit jams are each delicious depending on personal preferences. My Tangerine and Lime Marmalade is a zesty citrus combination that will truly tantalize your tastebuds. Chilli Coriander Jam is probably the most versatile of all the relish range. The scentual Asian inspired flavours lend themselves to make it not only a tasty relish but fantastic over cream cheese as dip, an excellent base for gourmet pizzas and an aromatic marinade for chicken or seafood. My apricot chutney is a fruity blend with a hint of chilli. Delicious as a natural base for ‘Apricot Chicken’ but also sensational served as an accompaniment to pork, ham, turkey, or Indian food. I thoroughly enjoy using Tomato Kasoundi as a relish but it is also magnificent spread over steak or lamb before barbequing. Great added to meatloaf, bolognese sauce or stir-fries. My fiery chilli tomato sauce is very warm and tasty, it has a slight kick to it, great with grilled and barbequed meats, especially hamburgers and sausages. Please enjoy and look out for new additions soon. Helen Steer xx
