Another tip jar has gone towards a very important cause! 💛

Throughout September, our tip jar was proudly supporting R U OK? and thanks to our wonderful Yass community, together we raised $31.60 👏

R U OK? Day reminds us that checking in with the people around us doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it starts with three simple words, “How are you?”

We loved having our little tip jar play a small part in supporting such an important cause, and we’re incredibly grateful to every person who dropped in their spare change throughout the month.

It’s one of the things we love most about our community. When there’s an opportunity to support something meaningful, you show up. 💛

AI is going to take our jobs? 👀

We’d like to see it try doing this. 😂

Because while technology can do some pretty incredible things, it can’t quite replicate the feeling of walking into your local café and being greeted by someone who knows your name. It can’t remember the story you told us last week, share a laugh across the counter, make your little one feel special, or turn a quick coffee stop into the conversation you didn’t know you needed. 🤍

So, for now, we’ll sleep pretty easy knowing there are some things best left to the humans. 😉💚

Happy International Coffee Day from the little roastery behind every cup we pour at Trader & Co. ☕💚

This is Six8 Coffee Roasters and while you might know Six8 as the coffee in your cup when you visit us, its story has always been about something much bigger than great coffee.

Dan and Toni started Six8 back in 2013 after spending time volunteering in communities across South East Asia, South America and Europe. After witnessing poverty, exploitation and injustice firsthand, they began asking a question: could something as simple as coffee be used to make a difference? And Six8 was born.

Today, Six8 ethically and sustainably sources specialty coffee from around the world and roasts it in small batches right here in Yass. But the mission that started it all hasn’t changed. For every kilogram of coffee sold, $1 goes to mission partners working to rescue, prevent and restore children affected by slavery and trafficking. More than $72,000 has now been given, with every bag and every cup contributing to that impact.

At the heart of Six8 is a simple belief: people matter more than business and money. Its mission is grounded in the words of Micah 6:8, act justly, love mercy and walk humbly... and that continues to shape the way Six8 approaches its coffee, its growers, its community and the world around it.

So this International Coffee Day, when you sit down at Trader & Co with your favourite coffee, know that there’s quite a story behind those beans. ☕🤍

We’ve always believed cafés are better with a little extra chatter, a few more giggles and the wonderful energy that kids bring through the doors. 💚

Our Trader kids menu is made especially for our littlest customers, with smaller portions, white bread instead of our usual sourdough, and food and drinks served on kid-friendly plastic plates, with plastic cutlery and cups (preventing breakages from happening helps for a great time for them!). 🤍

We’ve also got high chairs and colouring pencils ready to go, so while the grown-ups enjoy a coffee and a catch-up, the kids can get busy adding their own masterpiece to the Trader kids menu. 🎨

Families have always been such an important part of Trader & Co, and we genuinely love having your little ones around our tables. The noise, the colouring, the crumbs, the excitement, bring it all. 🌿

Little people are always very welcome here. 💚
