Today Mum is going in for open heart surgery.

She’ll be on all of our minds today.

Mum gave me my love for hospitality, for caring for people, for home, and for making things with your hands. And honestly, those things have shaped almost everything I do today — Whipbird, Handcrafted Harvest, the way I cook, the way I host people, even the way I create spaces for people to gather.

She taught me to appreciate handmade things. Not because they’re perfect, but because someone cared enough to make them.

Food made for someone you love. Something grown in the garden. A jar of chutney. A handmade gift. Fresh flowers in a corner of the house. A table set for people you care about.

That’s her.

Handcrafted Harvest has always been deeply tied to Mum. So many of our products are inspired by things she grows, ideas she brings to the table, or memories connected to her. And truthfully, I could never have built this brand without her support. She helps every single week. She’s always dreaming up some new idea or bringing something from the garden for us to use.

Working alongside her has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

This brand has never really just been about products. To me, it symbolises connection. Family. Home. Care. The relationship between a mother and daughter who genuinely love creating things together.

Before surgery today, Mum was reading through cards and messages people had written to her, and she said something about realising just how much people care. It meant a lot to her.

So I thought maybe we could give her something beautiful to read when she wakes up.

If you have a moment, we’d love if you left her a little message below wishing her luck and sending some love her way ❤️

We’ll keep everything going here while she rests for a while — but Handcrafted Harvest will be closed today as we take a small pause to be with family and see how Mum goes over the next few days.

We can’t wait to have you back at the table, Mum. But for now, just rest. We’ve got this 🤍

It’s been a busy few days here in our little Handcrafted Harvest production space 🤍

My mum and I spent the week making nearly 100 Mother’s Day gift packs by hand — pouring some of our best-selling soy candles, wrapping shea butter soaps, stamping brown paper bags, tying twine, and finishing each one with dried seed pods gathered from the farm.

There were kids at the table, crooked labels, wax everywhere, and moments where we wondered why we decided to make one hundred of them…

But honestly, we had so much fun.

There was something really special about mother and daughter, alongside two little children, making gifts for other mothers out there.

Slow handmade work like this always takes longer than expected, but seeing all 100 bags lined up at the end felt pretty incredible.

A little bit messy. A little bit chaotic. But made with so much love.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mums out there 🤍

I’m sitting here at the end of the day, just thinking about it all.

Today was our first day opening the doors at Handcrafted Harvest — and it was honestly so special. There’s something about seeing people step into a space you’ve been quietly building, piece by piece, and making it feel alive for the first time.

Thank you to everyone who came in. It meant more than you probably realise.

We had our shelves filled with what we’ve been working on — plants, honey, relishes, syrups, chutneys, candles, a few Mother’s Day gift packs… all the little things that have been slowly coming together behind the scenes. Things we’re really proud to finally share.

This space is going to keep evolving. It’s not something fixed — it’s more like a reflection of what we’re growing, cooking, and making in that moment. Recipes will come and go, the shelves will shift, and each week will feel a little bit different.

Right now, we’ve got some beautiful things in motion. The first mandarins of the season are coming through (some of the best citrus you’ll find), and we’re working with the kitchen to bring in fresh sourdough loaves on Fridays… which feels like a pretty perfect fit for the space.

At the moment, Fridays are our day — we’ll be here from 9am to 4pm, with the doors open.

And as always, we’re building this with you. So tell us — would you love to see fresh sourdough on the shelves each week?

We’ll be in the studio tomorrow morning —
packing Mother’s Day gifts, pouring candles, labelling jars, working through the week’s batch.

If you feel like dropping by, the doors will be open.

Come see what we’re making, have a look around. 💕

We’re not quite finished yet… but the doors are opening tomorrow, 1st May, 9am–4pm.

The front of the store needs a little more work than we first thought, and we’ve got trades booked in to help bring it to life. It may take a little longer than planned, but rather than wait for “perfect,” we wanted to open the doors and welcome you in.

Inside, there’s plenty for you to explore — and truthfully, this space was never meant to be fully ready. It’s a working farm pantry, a place that will keep growing, changing, and evolving week by week. New products, fresh produce, handmade things, seasonal ideas, shifting displays… always in motion.

So if you visit, you’re seeing the beginning of something living and real. Not polished perfection — just honest progress, made slowly and with heart.

We’d love to see you.

Linen & Rain is back in stock!

This is one of those scents that quietly fills a space — soft linen, gentle rain, windows open, and everything slowed down for a moment.

Calming lavender, fresh eucalyptus, and clean cotton, all coming together in something simple and grounding.

It’s the kind of candle you light when the house is still, the coffee is warm, and there’s nowhere you need to be.

We only make these in small batches, so there’s a limited number available each time.

Available now online and at Whipbird.
