🌈 EAT THE RAINBOW! 🌈

Eating a variety of colourful fruit and vegetables isn’t just about making your plate look pretty, different colours provide different nutrients and plant compounds. 🍓🥦🫐🥕

❤️ RED — tomatoes, watermelon, strawberries
💛 YELLOW & ORANGE — carrots, pumpkin, citrus, capsicum
💚 GREEN — broccoli, spinach, avocado, peas
💙💜 BLUE & PURPLE — blueberries, beetroot, eggplant, purple cabbage
🤍 WHITE — cauliflower, garlic, onion, mushrooms

The more variety of colours you eat, the wider the range of vitamins, minerals, fibre and antioxidants you get.

So instead of focusing on eating the same “healthy” foods every day…

🌈 Mix it up. Try different colours. Eat with the seasons. And eat the rainbow! 🌈

Your plate doesn’t need to be perfect, just colourful and varied. 💚

🌿 RHUBARB JUST $3 A BUNCH! 🌿

Woolies has been selling rhubarb for over $6 a bunch, while Coles hasn’t even had any, despite July–September being peak season!

Joseph Xerri has plenty, so we’re bringing the price at Box Divvy, down to just $3! 🙌

Rhubarb is packed with fibre, vitamin K and antioxidants, and is delicious stewed, roasted, baked into a crumble, added to porridge or yoghurt, or paired with apple and berries. 🍎🍓

Seasonal, nutritious and an absolute bargain! 💚

🥬 THIS WEEK’S ROLLBACK TO 1983! 🥬

Celery just $1 a bunch!

On 1 December 1983, The Canberra Times advertised celery for 99¢ a bunch.

Fast forward 43 years and Manuel Xerri has grown so much celery that Box Divvy is selling it for… $1 a bunch. 🤯

That’s right, 43 years of inflation, and the price has gone up just ONE CENT!

Meanwhile, diesel, fertiliser, wages, machinery and pretty much every other cost of farming have skyrocketed. Yet the price farmers receive for their produce can remain almost frozen in time.

Manuel needs to move a mountain of celery, so we’re passing the bargain straight on to you! 💚

Perfect for soups, stews, juices, salads, stocks or just adding a bit of crunch to everything.

Fresh produce isn’t expensive. Producing it certainly is.

Grab a bunch and support our Aussie growers while enjoying an absolute 1983 throwback price! 🥬💚

❤️ A little something from our Box Divvy community for the Hooper family ❤️

Like so many, we are heartbroken by the devastating news of Lily.

What started as a small gesture of support became a beautiful show of love and generosity from our amazing hub members.

We know nothing can ease the pain of losing Lily, but we hope this small gesture provides some practical support and reminds the Hooper family that they are surrounded by people who care.

Our deepest love and condolences are with the Hooper family during this unimaginable time. 🫶🏼

🕰️ ROLLBACK TO 1982! 🕰️
🥬 Cabbages — just 99c each! 🥬

We’ve been digging through the archives again… and this week we’ve found a cracker!

Back on 30 September 1982, The Canberra Times reported cabbages selling for just 99c each.

So, 44 years later, we thought… why not party like it’s 1982? 😎

Our beautiful green cabbages this week are grown by George Portelli at Maroota, north of Sydney. George has been growing cabbages for more than 20 years — and incredibly, he tells us he’s getting around the same price for a cabbage today as he was 20 years ago.

The problem? Fertiliser, fuel, wages, machinery and pretty much everything else certainly hasn’t stayed at 2006 prices. 😬

Meanwhile, supermarkets are charging around $6.50–$8.50 a head.

🥬 So we’re doing things differently.

There’s plenty of cabbage around right now, and rather than simply pocketing the benefit of lower grower prices, we want to help George move more of his crop.

Our cunning plan?
Make cabbage ridiculously cheap and get everyone eating more of it! 😂

This week, Box Divvy is rolling cabbage all the way back to:

🎉 99c A HEAD! 🎉

The same price reported in 1982.

Coleslaw. Stir-fry. Okonomiyaki. Sauerkraut. Cabbage rolls.
At 99c, it might be time to broaden your cabbage horizons! 🥬

Inflation? Apparently nobody told the cabbage.
Or George. 😂

🛒 Grab yours this week and support a local Aussie grower while enjoying a proper *Rollback to 1982!

🍅 A little taste of 1999 is back! 🍅

This week’s Rollback to 1999 is bringing field tomatoes back to the same price as 27 years ago — just $2.84/kg! 🙌

And with the solar eclipse happening again, it seems the stars (and tomatoes 😉) have aligned!

27 years later. Same price. No coincidence. 🍅✨

Grab yours in this week’s Box Divvy order! ❤️

🍠 Sweet potato is so much more than just a side dish!

From crispy wedges and chips to soups, curries, fritters, gnocchi and even baking, there are so many delicious ways to use this versatile veggie.

What’s your favourite way to enjoy sweet potato? 👇 💚

Sweet potato doesn't ask for much.

Just a cool, dark place to store it...and a chance to be included in your next meal.

Roast it until golden, mash it, stuff it with your favourite fillings or add it to soups and curries.

One vegetable. So many possibilities.

We'd love some inspiration. How do you use sweet potato at home?
