Today is International Day of Rural Women.

To mark the day, women from arcross our Group volunteered to share what it’s like being a woman in agriculture, from the office to the yards and everything in between.

We loved hearing their stories and celebrating the women who play such an important role in our industry!

We’re coming back as a Major Partner, and we're counting down to a massive week of all things BEEF!

Find us in the Partner Precinct throughout the week as we join a jam-packed program celebrating Australia’s beef industry.

Have you ever been to a conference where horses ride into the room, an opera singer takes the stage and a three-time Melbourne Cup winning jockey delivers his closing address from horseback?

We have.

Last week, our team attended BeefEx 2026 on the Gold Coast, alongside more than 1,200 people from across the industry.

The speaker line-up was pretty impressive too, with Former Australian Defence Minister Christopher Pyne, economist Saul Eslake, futurist Anders Sörman-Nilsson, Dr Kee Jim from Blackshirt Feeders in Nebraska and champion jockey Glen Boss all taking the stage.

Add in an ode to pen riders from poet Rupert McCall OAM and a performance from opera singer Nina Korbe, and it was certainly three days to remember.

A look at the future of feedlotting!

Last week, our team joined more than 1,200 industry delegates at BeefEx 2026 on the Gold Coast.

Our General Manager Tony Fitzgerald took to the stage, joining the Feedlot ’40 - From Induction to Exit and the Consumer Beyond panel, which explored what feedlotting may look like in the year 2040.

We had a fantastic few days listening to industry experts, on topics like emerging technologies and innovations, as well as exploring the latest developments in genetics, animal health, and equipment.

Two of our team members have put their problem-solving skills to work, with Wes Kneipp from Bective Station and Brett Stewart from Whyalla Beef both entering this year’s ALFA Innovation Competition.

Wes Kneipp - The Ezy Fit Spray Frame
Wes developed a lightweight, slide-in frame that turns a side-by-side into a w**d sprayer. It’s quick to install and remove and cost around $100 to put together.

Brett Stewart - Elevator Pressure Washer
Brett developed a simple device to make cleaning the feed elevator buckets quicker and easier, helping prevent blockages and keep things moving.

The competition recognises practical innovations developed by feedlot employees, with the winner to be announced at BeefEx 2026 next week.

Good luck, Wes and Brett!

Earlier this month, our team joined the 2026 ICMJ Development Tour, connecting with 20 students taking part in the industry tour.

As part of the tour, the group visited our Oakey plant, gaining a behind the scenes look into the scale and complexity of beef processing and the production journey to finished product.

Our General Manager Tony Fitzgerald spoke with the students, sharing insights into the red meat industry and his own career journey.
