As olive harvest season begins across Greece, we want to wish all of our incredible olive oil producers a safe, abundant and beautiful harvest.

Extra virgin olive oil has always been at the heart of The Greek Providore. In fact, we simply wouldn’t be the same without it.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of bringing some truly extraordinary Greek olive oils to Australia, made by families and producers who care deeply about their land, their trees and the quality of every single bottle they produce.

Behind each harvest are months of hard work, patience and uncertainty. Watching the weather, caring for the groves, waiting for exactly the right moment to pick and then working around the clock when harvest finally arrives.

To all of our producers: καλή συγκομιδή! 💚

May the olives be plentiful, the quality exceptional and the presses very, very busy.

We cannot wait to see what the 2026 harvest brings and, eventually, to share the new season’s oils with you here in Australia.

This one feels very at home at The Greek Providore.

Introducing Old Vintage Melbourne: A Culinary Chronicle by Greek-Australian author Chris Macheras, a beautiful celebration of the restaurants, cafés, cake shops, bars, pubs and markets that helped shape Melbourne’s incredible food culture.

Featuring around 120 Melbourne culinary institutions, it tells the stories of the places where generations ate, drank, celebrated and gathered.

And, of course, the Greek story is part of it. 🇬🇷

From the Greek cake shops of Oakleigh to the many migrant families who brought their food, traditions and hospitality to Melbourne, this book is a reminder of just how much migration has shaped the way Australians eat today.

Six years of Bringing Greece Home. 💙

What started as an idea and a love for Greece, its food, its people and its traditions has grown into something we could never have imagined.

Over the last six years, The Greek Providore has searched across Greece and Cyprus for products that are different. Products with a story. Products made by people who genuinely care about what they create.

We’ve introduced Australia to incredible extra virgin olive oils, rare honeys, herbs, wines, spirits, pantry staples and beautiful Greek treasures, many from small family businesses and producers whose products had never been seen here before.

We get to find these incredible people, hear their stories, taste what they make, bring it halfway across the world and then watch it find a place in Australian homes, restaurants, bars and stores.

But The Greek Providore would be nothing without our producers.

Some have been with us almost from the beginning. Others we’ve discovered along the way. Many have become genuine friends.

They trust us with something incredibly precious, their family names, their products, their traditions and, in many cases, generations of work.

To every producer who has trusted The Greek Providore to represent you in Australia: thank you. We are so incredibly proud to stand behind what you make.

And to our customers, chefs, restaurants, bars, delis, retailers and everyone who has ordered a bottle, recommended us to a friend, written a review, shared a post or simply told someone, “You need to try this…” you are the reason we are still here six years later.

We’re so happy to see Niama Gluten Free back on the shelves at YIAYIA’S PANTRY including the much-loved gluten-free kritharaki (orzo) and Hilopites.

Yiayia’s Pantry is one of those beautiful stores where you can wander the shelves and discover so many gorgeous Greek goodies, traditional favourites, pantry staples and special finds that bring a little taste of Greece home.
