If you haven't heard, The Good Food Group is shutting down after 3 solid years of getting us the goods. Through multiple floods, huge COVID challenges, and widespread supply chain issues, it's been a challenging time, but always worth it on split day! However, I've decided to simplify my life and let a few major commitments go, so next order will be THE LAST ONE! Order closes in 1month, so get in and order up big! 💚😊🌱💪

Yes, supply lines are still not 'back to normal'... Maybe they never will be! And various countries, including Australia, are changing or have already changed their food import and export laws... But, we still have access to abundant food! Hoooooray! Sometimes we just have to wait another week or so as our supplier deals with staffing issues (winter flu be taking people out all over the place! ).
I like to think that the extra wait and the need to plan our orders with more long range thinking is actually good for us. My European ancestors certainly had to be able to gather and store food long with longer term planning!
Annnnnyways, if you jump on board the Good Food Group train, you may have to be a little more patient than just popping down the shops, but I say it's good for us! (And you can pop down the shops as well for the extras! Of course, of course! And the farmer's markets for the fresh things! 👌💚🌱🤤 Can you tell I loooove food adventures?? 😆)

Community projects aren't always picture perfect, but the perfection is there in the everyday-ness of it. I love it that some of the random people walking past got to see this adventure! And that two of the Mummas brought their little ones and they got to be little helpers too.
Yesterday was a particularly poignant one as I (Gabriella) am only just recovering from a lurgy and all I could do was sit and watch and occasionally give feedback. Which is a first! Usually I'm in there lifting and moving and sorting all the things! It really was (is!) that it's all about the group. 💚🌱💚

Big thanks to this bunch of happy busy bees who made split day a smooth and easy mission yesterday. 🙏 Yes, The Good Food Group relies on helpers to help split all our orders. That 5kg bag of organic dried apricots aren't going to divide themselves into smaller bags all by themselves.
We love our helpers and encourage everyone who can to come along and help at least occassionaly, but it's definitely not a requirement of joining the group. It's lots of fun to just turn up and pick up your order too. 👌

There's no joining fee, no minimum order or order frequency, and a sweet little community of conscious eaters to connect with. 😊 We put in a group order every 6-7 weeks and can offer a 30-50% discount on regular retail prices of organic wholefoods like rice, legumes, dried fruit, nuts, oils, and more. 👌

Make organic food more affordable for people who want it!
Just by being a member, you instantly get access to wholesale prices. Doing the right thing for our personal & global health is often a really expensive endeavour. The GFG’s primary intention is to make eating top quality organic more economically viable for more people.
And, the more the group grows, the bigger the savings we’ll be able to access as a collective. Through bulk ‘splits’, you can save around 30% on regular retail prices, often more. For those of us invested in buying the best quality food we can find, that amounts to BIG savings!
2. Support the planet and the wider community by regularly buying from organic suppliers, and reducing our food packaging waste.
We’ve got some major health and environmental issues going on at the moment. You know it, I know it, we know it. While the ‘certified organic’ growing and labelling process isn’t perfect, it’s a really, really good start in our current system. And, the more we support those growers and creators who are investing in organic practices, the more innovation there can be in that sector. (I’m excited for when there are a big range of items available that are ‘Certified Regenerative’!) As for the packaging - bulk buy goods have fewer small plastic packets, and the intention up the eco as much as possible in this area!
3. Be part of growing the community of health conscious, eco friendly, inspired doers, creators, & leaders on the Sunshine Coast.
Health is a many faceted state of being. Physical health, mental health, emotional health, social health, and global health are all interdependent and mutually supportive. The GFG was borne out of an individual desire for access to more affordable organics, but it can only be realised through communal commitment and literal buy-in. People who value organic food tend to also share many common values in a lot of other areas that make life a healthier, more enjoyable, more sustainable and regenerative adventure. Who knows what else will come out of this adventure, what connections and collaborations will emerge, but we know they’ll be good ones!
