Kitchen Cook Wanted – Strathbogie General Store ☕

At the Strathbogie General Store we’re looking for a kitchen cook to join our small country cafĂ© team.

This is not a chef position — we’re simply looking for someone who loves cooking and takes pride in making good, home-style food.

Think simple, rustic meals done well — lasagnes, beef stews, curries, quiches, soups, and fresh cafĂ©-style food made with care.

This is a permanent position, 3–5 days per week, and as we are a 7-day-a-week business, some weekend work will be required.

What the role involves:
Cooking home-style meals in a busy café kitchen
Preparing food for breakfast and lunch service
Keeping an eye on stock and kitchen needs
Working as part of a small, supportive team
Some customer service when needed (serving customers and helping on the till)
Coffee training will be provided, so you’ll be able to jump on the machine when required

Who we’re looking for:
Someone who genuinely enjoys cooking
A person who can work well in a small team
Kind, reliable, and easy to get along with
Happy to help where needed — front or back of house
Comfortable working some weekends on a rotating roster

We’re a small team that works closely together and enjoys coming to work. We’re looking for someone who fits into that same mindset.

🌿 We’re Hiring – Come Join Us at the Store

At the heart of Strathbogie, our little general store is more than just a shop — it’s a place where locals stop for a chat, visitors wander in for a break, and good coffee is always brewing.

We’re looking for someone to join our team — around 3–5 days a week, with a mix of weekday and weekend shifts.

This role is a bit of everything:
– Making coffee and serving customers with a smile
– Simple food prep and helping out in the kitchen
– Pitching in wherever needed to keep the day running smoothly

What matters most to us:
– You’re reliable and show up when you say you will
– You’re honest and take pride in your work
– You work well alongside others and bring a good energy to the team
– You notice what needs doing and just get in and do it
– You’re happy to take direction and keep things moving

You don’t need years of experience — we’ll teach you what you need to know. What we can’t teach is a good attitude and a genuine care for people.

This is the kind of job where you’ll get to know the regulars, be part, and feel like what you do matters.
