๐ **We may not have the most customers, but we definitely have the BEST ones!** ๐ต๐ญโค๏ธ
Today, something so simple reminded us why we started Shop NiKulas and why, despite everything, we're still here. ๐ฅน
One of our lovely customers asked us if we wanted an **ube plant**. Of course, that simple question brought back so many childhood memories!
We shared how, growing up in the Philippines, we used to grow ube throughout the year so that when Christmas came, we'd have enough to make our very own **ube halaya**. ๐๐
It was one of those simple traditions that made Christmas so special. Growing something with your own hands, patiently waiting for the harvest, and turning it into something the whole family could enjoy.
And today, that lovely customer brought us an ube plant. ๐ฑ๐
Just because. No special occasion, no expectations, just a beautiful act of kindness.
It might seem like such a small thing, but to us, it meant more than words can explain.
โค๏ธ **The truth is, there have been many times when we've thought about giving up on this business.**
Running a small shop isn't easy. There are quiet days, rising expenses, and moments when we question whether it's still worth keeping the doors open.
Sometimes, the numbers just don't make sense. Sometimes, the effort feels bigger than the reward. And sometimes, we wonder if it would be easier to simply let go.
We don't have hundreds of customers coming through our doors, and we're certainly not making a fortune doing this.
But then something like today happens.
A customer brings us an ube plant. Someone stops by just to say hello. Someone shares a story about their childhood in the Philippines. Someone walks in looking for a familiar taste of home.
And suddenly, we're reminded that **not everything valuable in life can be measured in money.** ๐ฅนโค๏ธ
As clichรฉ as it may sound, we've reached a point where **we're no longer doing this just for profit.**
We do it for the company. For the conversations. For the friendships. For the laughter and the stories shared across our little counter.
We do it because we genuinely love Filipino products, Filipino culture, and most importantly, **Filipino people.** ๐ต๐ญโค๏ธ
Living far from home, sometimes all you need is a familiar face, a familiar language, or someone who understands why a simple ube plant can bring back so many memories.
And somehow, our little shop has become a place where we get to experience those things.
**We may not have many customers, but the ones we have make us feel like we have a whole community behind us.**
To our lovely customer who gave us the ube plant, maraming, maraming salamat po! ๐ You didn't just give us a plant. You gave us a little piece of our childhood and another reason to smile today.
Hopefully, one Christmas, we'll be making ube halaya from our very own harvest again! ๐ฑ๐
And to all our Ka-ShopNiKulas, thank you for every purchase, every visit, every conversation, and every little act of kindness.
We can't promise that running this little business will always be easy. There may still be days when we feel like giving up.
But moments like these remind us why it's so hard to walk away.
**Because somewhere along the way, Shop NiKulas became more than just a business. It became our little piece of home.** ๐ก๐ต๐ญ
And maybe that's something worth holding on to. ๐
With love,
**Shop NiKulas** โค๏ธ
