Temporarily Closure of IGA
Hi everyone,
We know many of you have been wondering why weβve closed, whatβs happening and when weβll reopen. Weβre truly sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work through this unexpected issue.
We had to temporarily close after a problem with the flooring and old pipes caused water to flow into the middle of the shop. The pipes, which were laid into the concrete in 1979 and had been dormant for around 20 years, have now been capped to prevent any further issues.
All of the affected flooring has been removed by Cowans, and the areas have been cleaned. The next stage is the repair and reinstatement work.
Unfortunately, the insurance process has taken longer than expected. An initial scope of works was prepared and revised to account for work already completed by Cowans. The insurance company then appointed different contractors, which meant another scope of works had to be prepared. That scope has now been approved by the assessor and is awaiting final approval from the insurance company.
The trades are ready and eager to begin as soon as that approval is received. We understand how frustrating the uncertainty is, and weβre doing everything we can to move the process forward and reopen as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience, support and understanding. Weβll keep you updated as soon as we have more information about the repairs and reopening.
Please see photos of progress
Kind regards
