Heading to bowls, travelling to catch up with family, or just planning to have a bloody good time? We’ll be open this Monday for the King’s Birthday public holiday, from 8:30am to 12 midday, with plenty on hand for your wants and needs.

Take your time and have a good squiz around while you’re here — there’s plenty to find….

Alongside the old-time favourites, you’ll find some of those harder-to-find things that once meant waiting for a trip to the big smoke. We’re glad to do our bit to make life in the Channel Country a little easier, for locals and visitors alike — whether it’s a want or a need.

WHAT A WEEKEND THAT WAS!!! 🏁🏍️

Pretty sure it’ll take us at least a week to get over that one! From our tiniest competitors to the seasoned old hands in the Enduro, Quilpie rallied together for a hearty weekend at the Motorcycle Gymkhana.

There was an 18th birthday in the mix, the local SES keeping the canteen humming, coffees on the go, and pizza and lasagne for Saturday night dinner. A big thank you to the Quilpie Golf Club for sharing your facilities with us — a rather noisier use for the place than golf!

The Quilpie General Store and APV Contracting Pty Ltd amongst many other local businesses, were proud to sponsor the event, but it takes a whole crew to bring a weekend like this to life. Our families, our mates, the organisers, volunteers, competitors and supporters all played their part. We’re so grateful to everyone who pitched in and made it happen. We hope those who were injured are recovering well.

If you haven’t been to one yet, you really should give it a whirl. There’s nothing quite like seeing a community come together, from the first rides to the last dusty lap.

A visit from a Fruitlink legend!

We had the wonderful Shelley from Fruitlink out visiting us today — our fruit and vege supplier, and an absolute champion when it comes to customer service.

Each season, Shelley makes the trip out to check that our fruit and vege shelves are looking their very best, helping us bring you the freshest, finest produce each season has to offer.

We’re a long way out here, so we truly value the solid relationships we’ve built with our suppliers. Shelley and the Fruitlink team go above and beyond to help us keep Quilpie stocked with beautiful fresh fruit and vege.

And today, Shelley went the extra mile in more ways than one. Once she’d worked her magic on the shelves, she whipped up some strawberries and cream for a special treat. What a legend! 🍓

You’ll often see us sharing the beautiful professional photos taken by the legendary Lauran Gilligan Photography on our page, but these snaps are candid photos straight from the boss herself, capturing what Shelley from Fruitlink does best.

Did you know there’s someone who moved to Quilpie purely because our fruit and vege is 10/10? That fresh produce really was a make-or-break factor — and we reckon that says something pretty special about the quality available right here in our little corner of the Channel Country.

A little behind-the-scenes story from yesterday…

We received a DM from a customer out bush asking if we could send her a photo of our fruit and veg shelves so she could see what was available before putting together an email order.

It happened to be perfect timing because yesterday was truck day, so our shelves were loaded up with fresh goodies straight from the market.

She was pretty happy with what she saw…. and we wished her luck getting her order written while the kids gave her five minutes to herself 😂

We genuinely love having this kind of relationship with our customers. Being able to know you, help you and deliver a bit of good old-fashioned service in this modern world means everything to us.

We’re currently unable to log in to our Facebook account, even though we can still post there. It’s a frustrating one, and so far we haven’t been able to get through to a helpful human who can assist us in sorting it out.

So, if you’ve sent us a message or left a comment and we haven’t replied, please know we haven’t been ignoring you… honestly, we can’t properly get in to see or respond to everything. We’re sorry if it’s felt rude or like we’ve dropped the ball. That’s not our style, and we genuinely love hearing from you.

Show weekend is here, Quilpie! 🎡

To make sure our whole crew can get down to the showgrounds and get properly amongst the shenanigans, we’ll be running slightly adjusted hours this Friday:

⏰ Friday, 11 September: 8:30 AM – 12:00 Midday
⏰ Saturday, 12 September: Trading as usual!

Get in early Friday morning to grab your snacks, and show supplies before midday.

We’ll see you all ringside, in the pavilion, and down side-show alley!
