This product contains gluten but the label has a ‘Gluten Free’ claim. This product has been available for sale in QLD, SA and WA.

Consumers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

We’ve received many questions about wheat straws and paper straws; are they suitable for people on a gluten free diet?

Paper straws
To date, the information that we have found indicates that paper straws are likely to be suitable for use by people who need to avoid gluten. We are continuing to make enquiries into this area so that we can confidently provide accurate information

Wheat straws
Those with coeliac disease are able to use biodegradable containers, straws and cups made from wheat without concern: The material used to make these products is the by-product left over after the grain is harvested (the straw, stalk or husk) – which does not contain gluten. Further to this, the containers/straws do not ‘break down’ during use so there is no risk of ingesting any of the product.
