My papa had a brother, Johnny King-Hazel, my mum was the eldest her name was Ellen (mere) This is my papa (grand father) William Hohepa Hazel who lived at Karaka Tuwhero in Te Araroa, There is only 1 surviving Hazel from William and Kino, that is Rewa Te Roopu Aroha Hazel also known as Goldy or Poppy, he has been living in Perth for 22 years and will be 68 on the 27th of december. The only other c
hild left is Arapeta (Albert) Hazel and he is the son of William and nanny Mate who was married to Kaiwai Mclean until he passed then married William Hazel, Albert was the only child to the marriage. They lived in Te Araroa for many years then moved to Rongo I Te Kai (Penu Marae) Hapu, Te Aitanga A Mate, Iwi, Ngati Porou. This brought them closer to us which was Makarika so we saw our grand-parents and uncles Albert and Goldy on a regular basis.
