โ
INGREDIENTS โ
๐ 170g butter, softenedโ
๐ ยฝ cup white sugarโ
๐ ยพ cup brown sugarโ
๐ 1 eggโ
๐ 1 tsp vanilla essenceโ
๐ 2ยผ cups plain flourโ
๐ 1 tsp baking sodaโ
๐ 1 cup choc chipsโ
โ
Extras:โ
๐ 100g chocolate, melted โ
๐ White Marshmallowsโ
๐ Maltesers or mini Reeseโs Peanut Butter Cupsโ
๐ Decorative edible eyes โ
โ
Method:โ
๐ Using an electric mixer, beat the softened butter and sugars together until well combined and light in colour.โ
๐ Add the egg and vanilla essence and beat again until combined.โ
๐ Add the flour and baking soda and mix gently with a spatula. Once it starts to come together, use your hands to form a dough.โ
๐ Add the choc chips and mix them through the dough with your hands until evenly distributed.โ
๐ Roll the dough into balls, place them onto a lined baking tray and slightly flatten.โ
๐ Bake at 180ยฐC for 13โ15 minutes.โ
๐ Allow the cookies to cool slightly before decorating.โ
โ
To make the spider webs and spiders:โ
๐ Place the marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for approximately 30 seconds, then stir.
๐ Using your fingers, gently pull the sticky melted marshmallow apart and stretch it over the top of each cookie to create a spider web. This part is really fun!โ
๐ Use either a Malteser or mini Reeseโs Peanut Butter Cup for the spiderโs body.โ
๐ Melt the chocolate and place it into a Ziploc bag. Snip a tiny corner off and pipe on the spider legs, then use a little melted chocolate to stick on the edible eyes.
