To The North

Dear anyone and everyone who has played a part in To The North,

It is with a very heavy heart that I have decided not to put on To The North this year.

It was a festival born from bringing the community together and celebrate our wonderful Northern Suburbs!

But unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and the strain that it puts on me, is a little to much for me going forward.

For those who don’t know, I have my business St Albi Bar + Eatery, which in itself (and for anyone who works hospo will understand!) It is my full time job, and I have my family.
3 beautiful kids and our youngest starting school this year.
When I undertake To The North, it spills everyone of my cups, and when those cups all fill and spill it leaves every cup empty.

So personally I don’t have the energy to give to the event anymore.
I would never do anything without giving it my absolute all, and right now I don’t believe I can give To The North my all.

I love To The North. I love every opportunity it gave, every person that was involved, every stall that played apart, every performance, everyone that attended, everyone who volunteered, every sponsorship that was given. Absolutely everything.

But sometimes you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them.

The biggest thank you though goes to Candy, my right hand woman who is the back bone to To The North.

We are so ready for tomorrow! We can’t wait to show you what we have been working on. We have 77 stallholders, incredible street art, Acknowledgment to Country, the Glenorchy City Brass Band, Taiko Drummers, roaming DJ + Saxophone set, Open Choir and a Live Art Auction! To The North is all about bringing community together, to have a really wonderful time! We have our Kid Zone with lego building, chalk drawing, face painting and an eco balloonist! Woody + Tubes are doing a live broadcast and the Triple M foot target!
This day is not to be missed and it’s forecasted to be sunny!! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow ☀️

Something different for us this year, we will be holding a LIVE STREET ART AUCTION! The incredible local graffiti artist Tom + Joel will be creating + spraying through out the day and then we will be auctioning off their pieces with all proceeds going back in to supporting To The North!! 130pm in the Valern Carpark!

Our wonderful neighbours the Taiko Drummers are set to perform at To The North this weekend! The energy and sound that you will witness is something so special!
Valern Carpark at 11am - you don’t want to miss this!!
They also hold workshops if you would like to join in, have a chat to them after their performance to find out more 🥁

Today we had a little photo shoot with the Mercury for To The North and these two legends came by! These two are performing two sets on Sunday 4th June starting from 11.30am. So come along and have a dance in the street whilst you are amongst all our amazing stall holders! #04.06.23

We did a count - we have 77 stall holders at To The North! will have specially selected second hand books, producing Tasmanian hand made Italian style liquor, the handmade artisan soap maker, producing unprocessed Tasmanian honey, showcasing natural soft drink made from local Tassie fruits + spices. selling handmade electric patterns + whimsical embellished jewellery and a coffee table book sharing stories from Tasmanian refugees and migrant backgrounds. This is only a handful of the stores To The North have on offer, this Sunday is sure to be one the best!

On Sunday 4th June, To The North holds an Open Choir where we invite you all to the streets of Moonah to come together in song. It is one of the most beautiful experiences, that lifts up your spirits and brings community together! 1215pm in the Valern Carpark. Headed by the Clementines, we can’t wait to share this with you! We will have song lyrics for you.

Although your furry friends won’t be able to attend To The North next Sunday 4th June, they won’t be forgotten when you bring them home some delicious treats from .pet.treats

***Sadly our puppy parking has fallen through this year so unfortunately we won’t be able to provide this much loved service. Apologies to all our To The North puppies out there. Thank you for understanding.
