A fallen eucalyptus tree left several of our beehives damaged, but the priority was getting our bees to safety!

BEEKEEPERS, ARE YOU READY FOR TOTAL FIRE BAN DAYS?

As Victoria heads into the warmer months, it’s important to stay informed about fire safety regulations, especially when working with your bees!

Did you know that using a bee smoker during a Total Fire Ban requires an approved permit?

Activities involving heat or sparks, such as grinding and welding, may also require permits.

✅ Check current fire restrictions before starting work.
✅ Apply for the appropriate permit in advance.
✅ Wait for approval before using your equipment.
✅ Always follow the conditions of your permit.

⚠️ REMEMBER: Submitting a permit application does not guarantee approval.
