Tip of the Day: "The Magic Wand"
If you want to dramatically increase your tomato yield, use an electric toothbrush! If you don't have one, buy one. You can get them online for about $12 or $15 and you will get your investment back in 1 season. When your plants are flowering simply tickle the base of the flower with the brush (running of course). If you look closely you will probably see a puff of pollen fall from the flower. That's all it takes to pollinate a tomato and you get a much better crop. This works really well if you don't have many bees around or not much wind.

Hi...I've created this new page just to post my progress through the seasons and my successes (and failures) in growing vegies. This is simply a hobby and although I sell excess produce the proceeds only help to pay for more potting mix, fertilizer and gadgets. I hope that you get some enjoyment from my toil. Like they say, a hobby is hard work that you wouldn't do for a living.
