👀 This time five years ago ...
(Funnily enough, it was also about this time five years ago it also started raining ... and didn't stop! 🫠 What an opening weekend we had! Within days of opening our doors Seaspray was flooded and we lost power for four days. 🫣 But ...onwards and upwards and we 🧡 being part of your community. Five years and counting! 🎂)
Wow, it's been an epic few weeks and while we're 49 per cent exhausted, we're also 51 per cent excited to finally open our doors and welcome you all back inside. We've got newspapers, fresh bread, groceries, Australia Post, bait, tackle, lollies and soft drinks. Oh, and our liquor department is fully-stocked with mainstream faves as well as local drops. PLUS local Anderson Kids Ocean View eggs, chai from Windsong Farm Providore and Radiance Blends (take your pick!), Gippsland Salt Co. salt, mushroom boxes from Flooding Creek Fungi, milk, cream and butter from Gippsland Jersey AND dried arrangements from Artisan Dried Blooms featuring dried natives foraged from Seaspray.
But (there's always a but), it turns out our deep-fryer is on the fritz. We know, frustrating! Rather than push through we've decided to bite the bullet and buy a shiny new one. Which is great news for both our kitchen superstars and our legendary customers, however the flip side is the new equipment is going to take a few weeks to cross a few state borders so we won't be able to cook fish and chips straight away. It's a disappointing curve-ball for us all but we promise the end result will be worth the wait. From tomorrow (Tue) we'll have Loch Sport Bakery pies, pasties and sausage rolls delivered fresh daily for your lunch. And more menu items to come over the following days too (stay tuned!). And don't forget our coffee from the coffee machine with the best view in all the land.
So please pop in for a sticky-beak and a hello. (But please also be gentle on us; our days have been long and our learning curves have been steep.)
Now ... let's do this!
