Our OG Bao family — the Millers ❤️

I’d actually been thinking about this family lately, and then look who turned up at the market today. Telepathy? Synchronicity? Whatever it is, I believe in it now!

I’ve known them since they were two, and now they’re four. I’ve watched pregnancies become babies, babies grow into these two adorable little humans, careers change, their family grow, and life take them interstate.

Along the way I got to know their family and friends too, and somehow so many of their people became Bao Lady customers as well. One lovely couple somehow brought a whole little community into my Bao Lady world.

Although one thought is starting to scare me a little…
What if Mavis and George grow up, have families of their own, and bring their kids to Bao Lady? 😂😂

Lilac blooming season 🪻

We sold out of bao buns quite early last Saturday, so I’m prepping a few more this week.

First batch done and they came out beautifully. Always makes me a happy lady. 😊

A little sunshine capture from yesterday’s market 🌞

Perfect weather, lots of smiles, and such a lovely Saturday at Salamanca Market yesterday.

One of our longtime customers, Matt, said, “I’ve been having your bao for ten years now.” And it’s true! But somehow, every time I hear something like that, it still surprises me all over again.

Then I realised there were a few other very familiar faces yesterday who have also been coming to Bao Lady for around ten years. S & P, Andrea… haha. It really made me think about how special it is to have customers who have kept coming back and supporting Bao Lady for so many years.

And Kevin, thank you for noticing our new signage. Such a small change, but such a big compliment.

Every Saturday reminds me how much I appreciate all the love and support you give Bao Lady. 🙏🏼❤️
