Johnny the ‘Laksa Kid’ loves a good laksa. After years of travel Johnny has discovered the best dining experiences are those that connect people and place. Which is why he has decided to combine his favourite dish of all time with some of Tasmania’s finest local ingredients and native Australian spices to create an authentic, yet unique tasting Laksa. u love, Johnny began to experiment with the flavours at the heart of the traditional Malaysian dish. As he contemplated one taste substitution for another and explored what local options he could add to the pot, an aroma of something wild emerged and so began this Laksa Kid’s food adventure. Tasmania's Farm Gate Market will be the launch pad for this culinary rocket. Johnny looks forward to not only bringing his fresh spicy flavours to the streets but also connecting with other producers, and sharing ideas about the ultimate Tassie Laksa.
