Casual Supermarket assistant
At IGA Elmore, we are proudly local and community-focused. Our store is dedicated to delivering fresh produce, great value, and friendly service to our local neighbourhood. We are looking for reliable and energetic casual team members to join our supermarket family.
About the Role
We are seeking a Casual Supermarket Assistant available to work a variety of shifts, primarily focused on afternoons, weeknights, and weekends. You will work across different areas of the store, ensuring our shelves stay stocked and our customers are taken care of.
Key Responsibilities
Provide friendly customer service at the registers and on the shop floor.
Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems to efficiently process transactions and handle cash/cards.
Replenish stock onto shelves ensuring products are rotated correctly (FIFO) and neatly faced for the next day's trade.
Maintain store presentation and cleanliness across the store.
Assist with lockdown procedures at the end of evening shifts.
What We Are Looking For
Availability: Must be regularly available to work weeknights and weekends.
A reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude with a focus on teamwork.
Excellent communication skills and a welcoming, helpful personality for our customers.
Physical fitness to handle lifting, bending, and standing for the duration of a shift.
Prior retail or supermarket experience is a bonus, but we are happy to train the right person!
