After a massive few weeks behind the scenes, we’re incredibly proud of what the Malone’s crew pulled off last night.

🏆 2 Sausage King category wins
🏆 1 Apprentice of the Year 🔪

And there’s one more trophy missing from the photo - Zachary Watts’ award, apprentice sausage of the year 🏆 which has already found its place proudly on the family wall. ❤️

And tonight, Zander Trugon is the 2026 NT Apprentice of the Year! 🏆

With more butcher shops getting involved this year, the competition was stronger than ever - making this achievement even more special.

While good butchers might be hard to find, we believe in creating them. Another young butcher coming through the Malone’s ranks and another one for the trophy cabinet. 🏆🔪

Proud once again! 🔪🥩

Today our apprentice Zander represented Malone’s Butchery in the 2026 NT Apprentice of the Year competition. Once again, we couldn’t be prouder of the effort and skill he continues to show. Awesome work mate! 👏🏆

A huge thank you to Rob Owen for always going above and beyond for apprentices across the NT.

And a special thank you to Chris Kelly from AMIC for continuing to back the Northern Territory, believing in our apprentices and giving them these opportunities. Without Chris, none of this would be possible.

Last but not least, it was great to see Rodney Sims, our old TAFE teacher, back amongst it and continuing to support the next generation of butchers. 🔪👏
