Hello everyone ☀️
Well; this is a very different post as to what you are all used to, and trust us when we say it’s taken us sometime to think of how to write this, but as of the end of this month our chookies will all be sold up and we will be officially ending our adventure with Kareelah Farms Eggs (Berries to possibly continue, more on that later 🫐)
We are feeling so many emotions at the moment, but to think 4 years ago we would have got to where we are today is unimaginable. It was an idea Will brought to me 1 afternoon after having a crummy time at my then job, and he showed me a video of a girl driving a quad bike with a trailer collecting eggs from a chicken caravan. I remember laughing then saying to Will are you serious ? Well, here we are 4 years later and yep he was 🤣
This business has been 1 intense roller coaster. It would be hard to truly put into words how much we have endured, the hours worked, the holidays and family time we haven’t had, the times we were soaked to the bone saving chooks, the number of eggs we have collected and processed and just the amount of time we had to invest to get those eggs into your fridges.
The decision hasn’t been an easy one. We know there’ll be a lot of you who will be disappointed and perhaps a little saddened by our decision and I know how much you all love your eggs, but it’s a time in our lives that we need to move forward and onto bigger things. With Will and I expecting another bub in a few weeks time we feel that the timing is right and are looking forward to planning some getaways and making memories while our little family can 👨👩👧👦
A few special people deserve a thank you so here I go ⬇️⬇️⬇️
🟡I would firstly like to thank all our employees, family and friends and our cafes and wholesalers who have put in time over the years to keep us up and running, for all your help and support 🙏🏻
A big shout out to my best friend and my right arm woman Tabs, you really are a warrior and I would’ve been lost without you (especially that market where the gazebo collapsed under water and we got soaked to our knickers 🤣 💕)
🟢To our parents, Vicki and Steve. Without you both, this never would have happened. You both are the most thoughtful, loving and hardworking humans I have ever come across and I don’t think I could ever express the gratitude. They put all of us here first and they deserve one very loooong holiday 🚐
From the hours spent babysitting, all the lawn mowing, the paper work, all the hours picking berries and making the jams to get those delicious jars of goodness into your homes and everything else they have done behind the scenes to get us and keep us going, you were and are the backbone to our family and we love you so very much ❤️
🔵To Kathy, I like to think of Kathy as the always there. I call, she’s there, I struggle she offers to help and find a solution, I need advice and she’s the thinker. You will know Kathy from farmgates and mostly markets but she certainly has been a blessing in making all this come together with knowledge and her wealth of experience. Make sure you grab some of her delicious jams and relishes before we finish up 🤤
Thank you so much 💛
🟣To the team at Kiama Farmers Market. Ugh, I’m gonna miss you guys and Wednesdays a whole lot.. Trish, you are a superwoman. A true fighter and an absolute legend. What you did for not only us but everyone at markets through the last few years to keep us all up and running safely was a challenge but you did it with this fighting never-give-up spirit and for that we are truly grateful 🙏🏻
We’ll miss you all so much and we will be sure to pop in regularly to continue supporting our farmer friends 👩🏼🌾🧑🏼🌾
🔴To Josh, 1/3rd of Kareelah, enjoy your free time 🤪 It’s been a challenge for Josh to juggle family life, his business, cattle, hay runs and everything else he takes on, on top of juggling the business and he’s done 1 heck of a job to keep it all going. Although he’d never admit it, he’s invested a huge chunk of 4 years into this and without him we certainly wouldn’t be where we were today. He is the definition of a true farmer and he has certainly earned a well deserved family holiday 🥰
🟠To my husband.. where do I even start.. You are an absolute legend babe ! I can’t even say how proud I am of you because words will fail me.. You are the most hard working and resilient person I have ever met. You have taken on every single task with sheer determination and I don’t even know if I can think of a time where you have complained to me about the workload you take on. This man works a full time job (not here on the farm) with afternoon shifts, night shifts, weekends, and spends afternoons with the chooks, fixing all the things we break, feeding, doing water, moving chooks, keeping on top of flock rotation and all the things to keep those eggs coming in on top of juggling family life and a hormonal pregnant wife with her endless list of jobs 🤪 This man and his YouTube video is where it all started so please make sure you all give him a 👏🏼 or a cold beer 🍺 because he certainly deserves it and has well and truly deserved it !!!
I am one proud wife and I can’t wait for all our family adventures 🥰🥰🥰
⚪️Lastly- to allllllll of you. All 9122 followers that we have 🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼👏🏼🙌🏼
T H A N K Y O U 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thank you for the support, all of those above made it work, but you guys are what kept us going. From those that have been with us from the start, to the end and all those in between we thank you so very very much. We will miss all of you 🥳
Feel free to drop a comment with well wishes to the Kareelah Farms team and I’ll be sure to pass it on 🙏🏻
“It’s not goodbye, it’s just see ya later” 🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚🥚
Cheers for the adventure everyone, we’ll miss you all

Ps - there will be one last farmgate for you to all grab some eggs for the last time. I will put up a post in the coming days with the time and date and an update on berries for the 2022/2023 season later in the year. Markets will continue and our last farmers market will be Wednesday 25th May 😭
