And then there are the good people of Juice Quest. 🧡

Tim, Eliza and the crew, every week there’s a chat, an ear, a laugh and usually a “what’s broken this week?” 😂

We collect the fruit pulp left over from all the fresh goodness Juice Quest is turning into delicious, real fruit juice for people right across SA.

And instead of it going to waste, it comes home to the farm and feeds our piggies. 🐷🍊

Two small SA businesses, doing things a little differently, equally passionate about keeping food and drink organic, natural, real and as close to the source as possible, which is something worth celebrating.

Every week we share the highs and lows of small business. What’s working, what’s not, what’s broken, weekend plans, life… and occasionally a solution to the problem that seemed completely unsolvable the week before.

There’s a lot to be said for people who just get it.

Some people don't just say they'll help. They show up. ❤️

Mitch and Tenille, bloody legends. Customers who have become some of my closest friends.

Last week, Mitch got out of bed and arrived here at 3am to load and get our animals to the abattoir. Then go and do a ten hr day

3 bloody am. That’s the kind of friendship and support you don’t forget.

Mitch, you and Tenille have been such a massive part of helping me keep my biz moving, and I honestly wouldn’t be where I am today without friends like you.

Over the past 12 months, I’ve been bloody lucky to have some seriously awesome people in my corner.

These are the people behind the scenes who make 81 Acres possible and I want to give them a shout out.

Going forward, you'll find us at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market once a month, giving me more time where it matters most, on the farm, producing the quality pork you've come to know and love.

I'm also working behind the scenes on some exciting new ways to make it easier to buy 81 Acres pork, including online ordering and local delivery.

After eight wonderful years at Willunga Farmers Market, I would like to say a huge thank you to our incredibly loyal customers and the entire market community for supporting 81 Acres.

From those who visited us every fortnight to those who stopped by for the very first time, thank you for supporting our family farm and choosing local.

We have shared so many conversations, laughs and memories over the years, and I'll always be grateful for each and every one of them.

As one chapter closes, another begins. I look forward to seeing many familiar faces at the Adelaide Showground Farmers Market.

It has been a little while between market days for us… and a lot has been happening behind the scenes at 81 Acres. This season has been about resetting. Learning and rebuilding.

Since the start of the year, I have taken on 81 Acres as a sole trader, running the farm on my own. It has meant wearing all the hats (and boots) while working through a tough six months managing predators and protecting our pigs and future litters. All while staying true to what we stand for: ethically raising pigs in a true free range environment in open paddocks.

It has not been easy, and I've had help from amazing friends, family, neighbours and community. Thank you all 🙏

And through it all, I have had the best little helper by my side 💛 CJ has been keeping a very close eye on our newest piglets… making sure they are growing strong, happy and safe.

Back at Adelaide Showground Farmers Market this Sunday, 26 April – limited stock, but we are super excited to be back.
