STATEMENT FROM FORAGER’S PANTRY
We are deeply saddened that we have had to make the decision to terminate operations out of the Curra Country Club.
Gerard and Holly originally took the kitchen operations on as investors (under Greenstone Cafe) and shortly changed to become the sole owners and operators under Forager’s Pantry. They saw how unique the facilities were at the Club and the potential for it (and the broader Curra Community Complex) to become a bustling and welcoming family friendly vicinity serving the Curra and wider Gympie community.
Our goal was to provide good food, great service and employment opportunities to the community whilst delivering new initiatives to support growth and additional patronage at the Club.
With Curra experiencing a growth and change in demographics, Forager’s long term vision was to also provide a cafe offering/locally sourced goods store (hence the name ‘Forager’s Pantry’) at the side of the club.
Curra, we have loved serving you. We feel so grateful for the generosity and support of this beautiful community and the connections we have made in our short time there, including our amazing staff (Zaak, Jade, and Brooke).
We listened to your requests for offerings (e.g Thai night, takeaway meals, spits, and chilli sauce!!) and we hope you enjoyed them. We also feel grateful we were able to serve you breakfast on ANZAC day and for Gerard, a veteran, to facilitate a speech.
If the community is in support of us returning to the club, we would consider it should there be a change in club management. We do however wish the Club the best in their future endeavours.
