It is with deep regret that we inform our valued customers and the wider Upper Murray community that Corryong Butchery will not be reopening its doors.
This decision has not been made lightly. Over recent months, we have faced significant challenges, including the ongoing difficulty in securing a qualified butcher to fill the role. We have been incredibly grateful for the dedication of volunteers who stepped in to help keep the doors open, but relying on volunteer support for such a critical position is not sustainable long term.
In addition, the impact of the recent fires and the loss of valuable stock placed further financial strain on the business at an already difficult time. Combined with the broader pressures facing small regional businesses, these challenges have made it impossible for us to continue operating.
Corryong Butchery has always been more than just a shop — it has been a community space built on local support, hard work, and a shared commitment to keeping services in our town. We are immensely proud of what was achieved and deeply thankful to every customer, volunteer, staff member, and shareholder who supported us along the way.
To our loyal customers — thank you for backing local. To our volunteers — your generosity and time will never be forgotten. And to our community — we remain committed to supporting Corryong in other ways into the future
