On a warm day, asparagus can shoot up several centimetres in just a few hours. Ours is locally grown in Gingin and Albany and as fresh as it gets. Grab it loose or by the bunch, wrap it in prosciutto, toss it through pasta or char it on the barbecue 🌱

Our King Proteas are grown locally down south and are on special for a limited time at inside The Herdsman. One bunch is all you need for a stunning centrepiece that adds a bold pop of colour to any room 🌸

CHICKEN & CHORIZO RICE
One pan. 20 minutes. That's all you need for a hearty, flavour-packed meal.
Recipe below 👇

Ingredients for four:

1 diced onion
2 tbsp tomato paste
400g diced chicken breast
140g diced chorizo
700ml stock
260g rice
3 crushed garlic cloves
1 tbsp each: smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder & pepper
80g grated cheese

Method:
Fry off your onion and chorizo. After a few minutes, add the garlic and fry for 30 seconds.

Add in the chicken, garlic powder and paprika, and cook until the chicken has colour all over. Stir through the tomato paste.

Add the uncooked rice, stir for another minute, then pour in the stock and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once the rice is cooked, top with extra chorizo and spring onion. Enjoy!
