There is nothing better than a perfectly cooked steak, and we promise it's not hard to replicate at home with quality, grass fed and finished beef and a searing hot pan. We've had a few questions in the shop this week about the difference between grass fed and grass finished beef. Simply put, grass finished beef cattle spend their entire lives on pasture, where grain finished cattle are initially raised on pasture, but spend their last few months in feedlots on a 100% grain based diet.
There is so much that goes into the quality of a steak, but genetics and nutrition are by far the most important factors. Bovine ruminant systems are not designed to digest grain, and doing so can lead to acidosis among other conditions that significantly affect their quality of life and meat profile.
So if you're trying to eat more protein this year, keep in mind where your meat comes from and how it was raised and not only will you be supporting sustainable Australian agriculture but your taste buds will thank you!๐ฎ๐ฅฐ
