Baba and Didas fresh Swan Valley market has never charged the surcharge as we absorb the cost for all our customers. That was a decision I made many years ago.

But I understand why other businesses had to as well.

It’s not easy running a small business in this Country anymore , but at the end of the day our customers new and old are the ones who keep us waking up each morning to produce fresh farm fruit and veg. As long as we still able to work we will keep going.

Again appreciate everyone and thankyou for always supporting us for years.

We’re now matching Baba & Dida’s hours, so you can find us here 7am–1pm, Friday, Saturday & Sunday .. with a possibility of a sneaky 12:30 close on Saturday 💜⚓️

• Purple cupcakes for our Freo supporters ..and more of the usual favs!

We’ll be baking as much as our little bakery can handle — but as always, the favourites can disappear fast.

This Saturday AFL grand final featuring my beloved Fremantle Dockers. Let’s not be docker shockers please this time lol. That was a very nervous lol by me as have been a long suffering loyal supporter.

This Saturday I’ll be leaving earlier but Katelyne will be closing the market side at 11.30 am as she also a Dockers girl. But Little Valley Bakehouse open longer.

Before opening Baba and Didas fresh market I had a realestate sign out the front and my company was purple so here is a shot near the front tree carpark.

Let’s all hope the game will be a beauty and My beloved Freo Dockers win their first flag before I die haha.

Baba and Didas fresh market proudly presents to all our new and older customers , our new areas we have been working on the last few weeks.

Disabled and acrod we have 2 parking bays painted in blue. Do not park their pls , if you are not classified to , as if you do Dida will tow you away to the Swan river lol .

Two motorbike parking bays located next to the new bike racks the area has a sign and painted red.

The new brick area for bicycles has room for over 6 bikes.

The carpark has orange markers on the kerbs so please park in between them areas.

The front area near the trees can also handle car parking.

Let’s hope we can make it more comfortable and easier than what it was previously.

And lastly I wish Emma and her staff all the best for the future years , as the last 3 weeks was hectic to get everything ready for tomorrow. The work and cooking behind the scenes was mind blowing. More variety and more tasty treats will have you all applauding her efforts like I have been , as chilli beef pie I tried was mouth watering.

We both are commited to bring this special collaboration we have started , and to grow together for the benefit of everyone in the Swan Valley and surrounds .

Busy busy time here at Baba and Didas fresh market , weeding and planting , preparing and picking our farm fresh produce.

Our very own organic purple garlic will be ready for sale this week. Price from $30 kg or so.

Broad beans , sugar snap peas , kale , silverbeet , cabbages along with other produce ready.

Fig trees and grape vines , pink onions looking fabulous so far.

Thankyou to our customers and friends helping on Monday with some picking of garlic it’s greatly appreciated.

Next week full on planting 3000 seedlings on our farm. It’s not easy for all of us , but we do enjoy the challenge since we doubling our produce areas since we more popular and always selling out each weekend. Supporting a true Swan Valley farming family who been living in the Valley for over 50 years had been such a great honour.

Better being busy than not in this economic climate , so here we are getting ready for another busy Summer.

✨ LITTLE VALLEY IS BACK THIS SATURDAY! ✨
Three weekends ago, we made the big decision to close our doors for a little while.
We needed more room to bake, better equipment, more hands and a little time to make Little Valley ready for the incredible amount of support you’ve shown us.
And now… WE’RE READY. 🤎
🔥 New equipment
🥐 A bigger menu
👩‍🍳 An exceptionally talented new baker has joined our little team
🚗 And MORE PARKING — thanks to the wonderful Tony, Baba & Dida, who have been busy making room for even more of you!
The ovens have been running, the benches have been covered in flour, recipes have been tested (and taste tested 😋), and our little bakery has had a pretty big glow-up behind the scenes.
Most importantly, there are now more hands in the kitchen, which means more of the things you’ve been asking for — and hopefully a lot less of that dreaded SOLD OUT sign quite so early! 😂
We honestly cannot wait to open those doors again.

Happy Father’s day to my dad Mate, and may you work till 100 and receive the letter from the Queen you always wanted lol. But atm it’s a King you don’t like haha.

Works hard every day as that’s what he loves doing and meeting new and old customers keeps him fit and healthy. We all love Dida Mate and cherish you.

Special mention to my father in law Peter may you rip and enjoy your real beers in heaven, as we all miss you every day.

May all the fathers and expecting fathers like my son Jake Tolich have a safe and happy day.

Poor Baba and Dida thinking they can sit back and chill enjoying retirement life. But nope as I’ve thrown them a curveball to get the little valley bakehouse back into the building the next 3 weeks.

Lots going on atm so I’ll apologise for all the big changes going on.

But we ontop of it as started getting the minor changes to carpark. Cycle parking area will be taking place. And the kitchen modern revamp to accomodate efficiency when we busier.

Plus on a happier note visited my hills farmers and their trees look fantastic so far . Cannot wait for summer apricots , plums , nectarines , peaches and persimmons. Usually season starts in November so not long to go.

Our fig trees look great as well as avocado and mango. Grape vines started shooting as well , so our undercover area will be pretty soon enough.

Purple not spray garlic looks like ready in 2 weeks so that’s a great thing to have for sale soon.

All this work is hard but needed as it’s better to do it when it’s not the super busy summer season.

Don’t forget Baba and Didas fresh market still open. Little Valley Bakehouse closed for 3 weeks getting refit sorted and upgraded to accomodate everyone.

Everyone has seen our progression in the last 4 years , and how far we have come to what we are today.

The first 2 years of constant heart ache , along with so many hurdles as to getting the right approvals for the market and cafe took its toll .

Another hard 2 years of testing our new business model to our customers market / cafe while constantly practising and expanding to get it all right.

Along the way we had health and age issues with myself and my family.

And also a constant reminder to myself along with Baba and Dida , that we could not operate the cafe / market / farm practically on our own was so impossible, but I and Baba and Dida pushed on.

So today’s news is letting all my customers be aware about The Little Valley Bakehouse decision , to close for the next 3 weeks as to get things right at our business premises , in relation to bigger ovens and a better designed kitchen to suit their needs.

The reaction since they opened was so huge , that we had been blown away by the sheer volume of new and old customers who embraced the new business model we had started. Their was no chance to ease into it at all as demand overtook supply day in day out. What a great problem to have in this environment, as the people in and around the Swan Valley could see how this would work together , and that it did.

Emma along with her husband and staff have done such a wonderful job so far and I too was so suprised , that I was not ready for this massive rush of new customers since my cafe was going to open in December for our busy season.

As of the last few days , I’m doing my bit to make your experience better and easier. I’m making the car park slightly bigger along with signage etc etc and will design a map to show other areas to park.

We also will be building a bike rack area for all the bikes out of the way of the traffic chaos . The tennis court , play area , we will be getting a fence to enclose the kids areas as well , along with shade sails.

Take stock of what the future will bring , make the tough decisions and get on with it for a prosperous long term future together.
