UPDATE
Firstly, thank you to each & every one of you who have commented, called, messaged, offered help etc, it has been very overwhelming & unexpected to see how many people are here & willing to support us in whatever capacity we need ♥️🥹
Our guy is finally awake, and has made slow improvements, which is to be expected. He’s on the long road to recovery & we are hoping for some answers soon. He is extremely emotional with the outpouring of love shown for him, he definitely did not expect many (if any) to be so concerned for him.
It has been a very heartwarming experience for our old boy, and he’s only managed to read a couple of messages, before the tears completely take over. ♥️
So far, the plan with the shop is to get a batch of TJ’s famous Tasty Patties and BBQ snaggas made over the weekend and open early next week to start moving the remaining stock out. I will keep you posted! ♥️
Hey Fam.
Hannah here. I have some not so great news to share.
Our Good Friday ended on a not so great note. Our main man, TJ, suffered from a severe seizure at home, traumatic for all doesn’t even begin to cover it, after being conveyed to the hospital, a few hours later he suffered another severe seizure, worse than the first. He was tended to, rather meticulously, by the ED team at Bunbury Regional, their efforts are not to be faulted.
What followed was a traumatic couple of hours, it was evident it was not working for TJ, it was decided he be sedated so his brain could begin to heal.
At the time of this post being published, TJ is still under sedation. It is unclear what has caused this to happen so randomly. Apart from suffering from non stop extreme stress for the past 3+ years, which can certainly cause this, we have no solid answers yet. The body has certainly got a way of telling you when enough is enough. We hear it loud and clear now.
While I am still awaiting our main man to come out of his deep sleep, questions have been asked regarding what we can expect in the following weeks, while its still unclear how TJ will be when he wakes, we know for sure it will take him a good couple of months to recover.
He can no longer drive a vehicle for a while, and the same goes for using heavy machinery such as a bandsaw (and everything else).
With that said, it is with utter devastation, that I announce the heartbreaking decision has been made to shut our doors for good. We are heartbroken to have to say goodbye to all of our beautiful customers and community so soon & so unexpectedly, you guys have been the force keeping us going for so long, and the foundation of our business. We will miss you all profusely.
We really do love our job & loved providing our community with a service like no other. We must remember our motto of “everything happens for a reason” and just hope the reason out-ways the unknown financial consequences sure to arise from such an abrupt closure.
We still have loose ends to tie up, stock to clear out, equipment for sale and debt to cover, so I will figure out the best day to get back in there to open up and sell off whats left, the freezers have got loads of stock in them along with a few fresh cuts, it’s all gotta go. No stock will be purchased going forward, so once it’s gone it’s gone. I will let you know when we will be open after I have discussed with our amazingly supportive army of helpers.
Customers with pre-existing orders will be contacted individually, but for now I just wanted to get this information out there.
I’m so sorry guys, we really didn’t want to bail, TJ had hoped a nice break would give him the reset he needed to continue on, his passion for our business & life in general may have been under question from the outset, but if you know TJ, you know he loves butchering and never faltered with the quality he produced, not even on his darkest days. He still showed up everyday and did what he had to do. And who knows what the future may hold, he may get back in the game in a different capacity later down the track, but for now, it’s time to take care of him & his health. Please keep TJ in your thoughts/prayers, I am confident we can navigate our way through this with our amazing support system.
If you’re interested in helping empty out the shop in the coming weeks, heavy lifting will be involved, let me know.
I’m also scouting for second hand sea containers to store the majority of our shop fit out.
If there’s any butcher’s out there serious about buying the business running, time is limited and open to offers.
I will do my best to keep you all updated on TJ’s progress.
Thanks for your support ♥️
Hannah, TJ, Benny & Sophie
