Western Australia Day.

To us, this day means more than a public holiday. It means celebrating the WA growers who wake up before sunrise to provide our state with the best, and it means celebrating the chefs who choose local for their menus.

Over the past months we have had the privilege of telling some of those stories. Of local produce that almost disappeared, of growers prepared to back themselves if the industry backs them, and of ingredients grown right here that most people didn’t even know existed in WA.

Every time a chef chooses local, every time a venue supports a WA grower, it means something. It keeps something alive that once lost, does not easily come back.
