If you’ve been with us since the early Targo Street days, you might recognise this face.
Asha was just a baby when we first opened The Deli. Plenty of our regulars have held her, entertained her or kept her busy while we were making coffees and food.
Now, 7 and a half years later, Asha has quite literally grown up as part of The Deli family.
And apparently, she already has her career mapped out. She wants to work at The Deli when she’s old enough, then eventually become the manager. Ashton and Hayley, consider this your warning.
She has so many favourites at The Deli. She likes trying all the yummy food.
"But I like it even more when I get to cook my own eggs on toast. Dad is really strict when I ask to cook though. First, my hair has to be tied back, wash my hands properly with soap and dry them with paper towel. Then, I'm ready!"
She’s also regularly putting in requests for caramel slice and brownies, and is still waiting on Mum to come through with the mango cheesecake.
But one of her favourite things about The Deli is the people. Some of our team have known her since she was tiny, and there are customers she’s quite literally grown up knowing who still come in and say hello.
This photo was taken recently at the Multicultural Event at CQU Bundaberg. Still hanging around The Deli, just like she has since she was a baby.
The world of small business can be tough, especially at the moment, and we never take for granted that people choose to spend their money with us. Every coffee, lunch, sweet treat, recommendation and familiar face coming through the door helps keep The Deli going.
And who knows, maybe it’s all keeping the doors open long enough for Manager Asha to take over one day 😉
Thanks for being part of The Deli, and part of Asha’s story, over the years.
