A midnight start for Mario and Luke to bring the BEST APPLES IN THE BUSINESS up from Stanthorpe this morning.

Unbelievably good Summer Delicious (red), Granny Smith (green) and Packham pears (they’re the pears in the photo).

As Mario himself says “treat them as gently as eggs”…

As always, we have a bunch of amazing produce in from ! We’ve been working with Ashley and Hannah long before the grocer opened, using their produce in our cafe ._ next door- this photo of Ashley and Kate in an avocado tree is from 7 (maybe 8?) years ago!

Ashley and Hannah run an amazing operation in the Redlands with everything from beef cattle, fruit, and veggies - if you’re ever in the neighbourhood check out their farm shop front open Monday - Friday 9am - 5:30 and Saturday 9-2

Today they’re being featured on the ‘Tasman Trails’ series on Channel 9 3:30pm!! Do yourself a favour and check them out - we’ll track down the segment and share it of course!

Their oranges have started for the season and are the perfect balance of sweet and tart - an absolute treat for a sunny winter’s day. We’ve also got pawpaws, mandarins, tuscan kale, silverbeet, coriander, rocket bunches, cucumbers, pak choi and pumpkins.

We are open till 3pm today and tomorrow :)

Did you know that eggplants are one of the ultimate brain health veggies? It contains a powerhouse antioxidant called Nasunin, which is found in their colourful peel. It and other anthocyanins (water-soluble natural pigments) help protect brain cells and potentially even remove waste products from cells! If this is true we can't wait for it to get to work on the cutlery set of micro plastics we've all got clanging about up there.

Anyway, our crowded noggens aside, more about these specific eggplants! George also works at - they planted these as seedlings, helped tend to them, harvested them and now they're at the shop all weekend to sell them to you! Please for the love of god come buy some - it's a bumper crop so we've got enough for everyone to take some home with them 🍆
