🥩 A Little Piece of Cav’s History 🥩
Long before Cav’s Butchery became the much-loved Cav’s Butchery Metro Market, it began right here beside our Steakhouse in Labrador.
In 1998, Cav’s Butchery was opened in response to growing requests from our customers who wanted to take home the same premium, restaurant-quality steaks and specialty products they enjoyed at Cav’s.
Originally operating from a small boutique butchery at the rear of the Steakhouse, it quickly became a favourite among locals. By 2004, demand had grown so much that a purpose-built, larger butchery was established on the land next door to the restaurant.
From premium aged eye fillets, T-bones and veal cutlets, to homemade Wagyu sausages, rissoles, sauces, salads and our now-famous chunky fillet steak family pies, Cav’s has always been about one thing — quality you can take home.
Our steaks are carefully sourced from specialist suppliers across Australia and New Zealand and aged for up to 12 weeks, ensuring every cut is tender, full of flavour and worthy of the Cav’s name.
What started as a little butchery at the back of the Steakhouse has grown into a destination of its own — and today, Cav’s Butchery Metro Market continues the tradition that began back in 1998.
Over 25 years of quality, family and a whole lot of good meat. 🥩❤️
