We hate food waste, so at Peninsula Organic Farmgate we always cook up whatever is left at the end of the week.
Last weekend we baked a beautiful recipe by - organic fennel with white wine, organic cherry tomatoes and some oregano from our garden. So delicious!!!

Did you know Australia wastes 7.6M tonnes of food each year 😮
At Peninsula Organic Farmgate, our waste at the end of the week is basically zero. We only order what we know we can sell and then any ‘leftovers’ or damaged stock we make sure we turn into something delicious.

Tomatoes are a perfect example of a food that can still be utilised once they start looking less than desirable. Simply cut off any ‘dodgy’ parts and the rest of the tomato is usually still good.

Still not sure? Throw them in the oven and slow roast them like we did with a bit of red onion, thyme, EVO, garlic, balsamic and salt… 2hrs later and u have the richest pasta sauce you could dream of!!!
