Ever tried a Y-Bone steak? 🥩
If you haven’t, think of it as a little bit like the beef version of a lamb forequarter chop, a bone-in cut from the shoulder that brings plenty of flavour to the plate.
The Y-Bone comes from the shoulder region of the cow, specifically from a cross-section of the shoulder blade. And, as the name suggests, it has that distinctive Y-shaped bone running through the cut.
It’s a great one for the BBQ or grill. Get your cooking surface nice and hot, give it a good sear, then let the steak rest before serving.
