One of our regular customers has just travelled to London to meet with Princess Anne’s team, taking a box of Ditters Mixed Glacé Fruit with him as a gift for Her Royal Highness.

There’s a lovely piece of Ditters history behind his choice. After the War, Ditters developed an export line of glacé fruit that Adelaide families could send to relatives in Britain. The parcels became so well known that, during a visit to the Ditters factory in 1945, the Duchess of Gloucester ordered three to be sent to HRH Princess Margaret, care of Buckingham Palace.

More than 80 years later, another parcel of Ditters glacé fruit is making its way from Adelaide to royal circles. We can’t wait to hear what she thinks.

Some people have already pulled out the Christmas cake recipe. Others are quite happy to leave the baking for much later.
