The Invisible Shield*
Grade 11 at Riverview High was tough enough without powers. But when Alex discovered he could turn invisible at will, it was both a blessing and a curse.
It started during a tense group project presentation. Alex was nervous, and suddenly... p**f. The room blurred, and he felt weightless. His teammates looked around confused – he’d vanished.
Alex soon mastered the trick: stress = invisible. Useful for skipping boring classes (oops), but also for stopping bullies and helping lost kids at the mall. He dubbed himself “Shield” – invisible protector.
One afternoon, a fire broke out at Riverview’s drama club rehearsal. Flames spread fast; students panicked. Alex turned invisible, slipped in, guided kids to exits through smoke (even found the drama teacher’s cat). Sirens wailed as he slipped out – normal Alex again, coughing.
Next day, the principal praised “the mysterious hero.” Alex shrugged, invisible in back. *Powers? Nah.*
But the whispers started: “Is Shield real?” Alex smiled – invisibility’s best superpower: anonymity.
Want Shield’s origin tweaked, or a sequel where he joins a (secret) superhero squad? 😄
