Honeydew honey is a type of honey made from the sweet secretions of plants or the excretions of sap-sucking insects, rather than flower nectar. It is typically darker, less sweet, and richer in minerals than nectar honey. Honeydew honey is known for its antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, as well as its potential for wound healing
Place your hives near forests rich in conifers (such as fir, pine, spruce) or deciduous species (such as oak, linden, maple)
Honeydew is actually a sweet secretion secreted by small insects (aphids and scale insects) that feed on plant sap. Bees collect this secretion as an alternative source of nectar, especially when flower nectar is scarce.

How bees make propolis
Collection: Foraging bees collect tree resins from sap flows and buds.
Processing: They chew the resins and mix them with their saliva and beeswax.
How bees use propolis
Construction and repair: It is used as a glue to seal cracks and openings in the hive.
Disinfection: Bees coat the interior of the hive with propolis to sterilize it and create a healthy environment for the colony.
Defense: It acts as a barrier against external invaders, such as snakes and other predators.
Mummification: Bees use it to mummify any dead intruders that are too large to remove from the hive, preventing the spread of microbes.
What is propolis made of?
Resin: Approximately 50%
Waxes: Approximately 30%
Essential oils: Approximately 10%
Pollen: Approximately 5%
Other compounds: Approximately 5%, including vitamins, minerals, and polyphenols (antioxidants)
