A customer of ours who's hatched chicks with her class passed along something worth sharing: there's grant money out there to help bring animals and farming right into your classroom.

Here's the part that made us smile. Our Hatch The Chicken program counts as an embryology project, and that's exactly whatAgricultural Literacy grants are made to fund. There's even a "Pets in the Classroom" grant for teachers who want a classroom
animal of their own.

These little Delaware chicks are part of something bigger than a hatch.

The Delaware is a true American heritage breed. Once one of the most popular chickens in the country, their numbers declined so much they're now considered a threatened breed.

We love hatching with purpose. Every chick is a chance for someone to learn where their food comes from, experience the wonder of new life, and help keep an important piece of agricultural history alive.
